Wasted years suddenly visible — but the sub shows you the vast landscape still ahead and tells you to keep going

After months since RoM release I have been feeling nothing short of amazing. The only real "negative" — though I wouldn't really call it negative — is that RoM had me feeling slightly depressed and frustrated with myself. Learning to code (which will get me a very well paid job), I started contemplating all the wasted years of my past. I'd feel frustrated at my past self for not pushing harder and truly trying in life. You are a climber and RoM is the wise bearded sage, waiting for you at the shoulder of the mountaintop; proud of you to have made it this far but pulls you in close, turns you around and shows you the vast and beautiful landscape you have not yet explored. You tear up at its obviousness and lament over how such an amazing opportunity has eluded you. The wise sage smiles and whispers gently "you still have time son, now keep going. This isn't going anywhere."
