Over a year of intensive Japanese study — approximately 4 hours daily — combined with Polyglot subliminal work. My listening comprehension is now at JLPT N3-N2 level with strong native content comprehension. The cognitive demands of Japanese are real: multiple scripts, new phonetic mapping, tens of thousands of words with no English etymological connection. What I've found is that language learning enhances overall brain function and subliminal processing efficiency simultaneously. Sleep, nutrition, and exercise all become more critical when you're running this kind of dual cognitive load.
