An update after a month or so in on this subliminal and learning Portuguese (the real Portuguese that is lol…) I started even before this subliminal maybe back in late November on a spreadsheets in Goggle drive to create a massive document for myself as a guide and training regime. My goal was to through some basic grammar overview and using mostly high frequency words, to ultimately put it into useful speech sentences and then practice speaking over and over again. I did this using AI. Then after starting Polyglot, I quickly became aware of holes that I needed to fill in order to cover the language document. Another big one was being able to a much greater degree hear myself as I'm speaking and correcting myself on the tone and pitch of the language all by myself. My aim is not only being able to be fluent, but also to nail the native pronunciation and dialect. So after a month of hours everyday speaking these sentences, paired with making flash cards of all the words and sentences, and also AI sound files to listen to daily from the same material… I can say that my pronunciation is pretty damn near native and I'm able to read and speak a lot better. Ans I'm also amazed just how broad my spreadsheet is in covering the most important word classes with 1000 verbs, 500 adjectives, 200 adverbs, glue words and fillers, basic an important grammar(all these categories with sentences) and I also made over 2000(growing still) of the most common nouns all in neat categories with sentences. The way I see it is that speaking a lot to natives is the ultimate and the biggest thing… but there's so much work that can be done in the dark, like I'm doing now with several hours of just speaking everyday and self-correcting. Everyday over the last month has been over 1000 sentences at least every single day… === So to sum it up: Polyglot has dramatically improved my ability to self correct and catch bad habits. It has also led me into researching a lot more into language learning techniques, and also helped me immensely to finalize my massive spreadsheet which now is just plug and play finally. I was planning to maybe freshen up my German next, but after a large pothole in the middle of the night and being 2 hours from home in Spain… (two flat tires on the same side lol…) and then 5 hours standing in literally the worst place ever and not being able to get a tow truck bc no one spoke Eglish and they did not understand my mix lol… I have decided to learn Spanish as soon as I'm fluent in Portuguese, so I saw that ordeal as the sign that it is Spanish next. And the plan with my spreadsheet was that it was going to be easy to just translate everything into a new language as the building blocks in English are already there. I can say that this spreadsheet has taken up so much time from just studying the language, but it was so worth it as I now literally don't need anything else to learn and also I can switch language whenever easily. Languages are just patterns and systems like everything else, and Polyglot really made me realize this… I found my way that I enjoyed to learn and that's all that matters…
