My friend confirmed I have a really nice waistline — I couldn't even see it myself yet

It seems like my internal perception of myself is lagging behind my outward. I have a very distorted self image of myself, very. I was trying on new outfits and sent a pic to my friend and she said I had a really nice waist line. I was like, I do? You're not just saying that to help me feel better? And she was like no not at all. So I'm struggling a bit to catch up to what other people might be seeing. Which is a weird concept to understand. It's like there's another me I'm not even aware of yet.
