Picked up a complex board game first try, found winning strategies I'd never practiced

Played a new board game (Castles of Burgundy) that was a bit more complex, and I picked it up pretty quickly. I figured out combinations to hit at the right time, found strategies, and stuck to them. I ended up winning. Loved how much sharper my mind was while playing.
